چکیده

S treptococcus mutans (Gram-positive) and higella dysenteriae (Gram-negative) are two types of pathogen bacteria. The use synthetic antibiotics against both bacteria is known to impact the bacteria's resistance. E. spinosum from Tasikmalaya a potential macroalgae as source an antibacterial compound for research aims determine metabolite s pinosum originated S. . was conducted through several stages, starting phytochemical screening, gradual maceration using hexane, ethyl acetate, methanol, determination activity, TLC-bioautography. Phytochemical screening showed that raw material extracts contained alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids. result methanol extract could inhibit growth d ysenteriae concentration 400 µg/mL. However, only acetate can mutans, 20 chromatogram hexane presence 6 spots, 5, 4, resulted elution system, respectively. TLC-bioautography there three clear zones on extract, detected flavonoid, extract. one zone According AlCl 3 spray reagent confirmation test, active flavonoid group.

Isolation and characterization of compounds from Nardostachys jatamansi targeting acetylcholinesterase inhibitors based on TLC-bioautography

Background and objectives: The cholinergic deficit correlates with the severity of Alzheimer’s disease. The cholinergic function can be improved by AChE inhibitors blocking this key enzyme in the breakdown of acetylcholine. Based on traditional medicine, during two last decades the use of herbal medicinal substances in dementia therapy has been studied. Nardostachys jataman...

Antimicrobial activity of the carnivorous plant Dionaea muscipula against food-related pathogenic and putrefactive bacteria.

Solvent extracts from the carnivorous plant Dionaea muscipula (Venus flytrap) were prepared using eight different organic solvents, and examined for antibacterial activity against food-related pathogenic and putrefactive bacteria. All solvent extracts showed higher antibacterial activity against gram positive bacteria than against gram negative bacteria. The TLC-bioautography analysis of the ex...
